North Carolina Specialty Hospital's history is a long-standing tradition of providing quality care for its patients. Founded as McPherson Hospital by Dr. Samuel Dace McPherson, the medical center has been known since it's earliest days for it expertise in treating diseases of the eye, ear, nose and throat. The original three-story facility in downtown Durham on West Main Street opened its doors in 1926. The licensed 24-bed medical center has served generations of patients and their families. A brand-new facility located on Ben Franklin Boulevard in Durham opened on May 23rd, 2005. |
